Emergency Medicine pediatricians see infants and children brought to the Emergency Department of Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital for:

• Management of fever in infants
• Respiratory ailments
• Poisoning, including environmental toxins
• Major and Minor Trauma, including Head Injury
• Suspected Child Abuse (Forensic Medicine)
• Abdominal Emergencies
• Psychiatric Emergencies, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
• Other acute illness and conditions

We work collaboratively with pediatric specialists, including surgical subspecialists, to bring the best emergency care to infants and children. We also work to improve our service with newer technology in diagnosis and treatment. We promote emergency preparedness in the community and study International Child Health.
